DADS sera le premier documentaire réalisé par Bryce Dallas Howard; le long métrage sera dévoilé au Festival international du film de Toronto (TIFF) en 2019. Grâce à nos recherches, nous avons constaté que les pères du monde entier ne prennent pas la totalité de leur congé de paternité et ce, même dans les pays où ils ont accès à des congés payés. Le documentaire DADS défend une nouvelle histoire de la paternité. Nous espérons qu'en partageant ces histoires remarquables de pères de tous les milieux, nous pourrons contribuer à sensibiliser les gens à l'importance du congé de paternité et à l'impact que les pères engagés peuvent avoir sur leur famille et leur société.
Why was it so important to make this movie about dads?
We partnered with Imagine Documentaries to produce DADS as part of our commitment to support fathers everywhere and to normalize them as caregivers and communicators.
We don’t just want to challenge gendered perceptions about men’s role in the family – we want to inspire men of this generation (and the next) to care for themselves and others.
That’s why a percentage of profits from our documentary on dads will support our Paternity Leave Fund and help empower all fathers to care for the people they love.
