For hair prone to oiliness
If your hair tends to look greasy and your strands clump at the roots, it’s likely you have an oily scalp. To regulate excess oil production, look for ingredients that calm the scalp and have absorptive qualities, such as charcoal. Dove Clarify and Hydrate Shampoo, infused with charcoal, deeply cleanses and purifies oily, dull hair from roots to ends and effectively removes product build-up without stripping hair. Pair it with Conditioner to leave it soft, smooth and hydrated.
For hair prone to dryness
Dry hair needs a lot of TLC when washing, due to being more prone to tangles and breakage. This is even more likely if your texture is curly or coily. Reach for a shampoo that gently cleanses without using sulfates, and promises to hydrate at the same time, such as the Dove Amplified Textures Hydrating Cleanse Shampoo and Super Slip Detangling Conditioner, formulated specifically for coils, curls and waves. People with this hair type may also opt for co-washing to retain moisture (as in, washing hair with a cleansing conditioner). If you choose to do this, it’s still important to do a full hair cleanse every now and then to prevent the build-up of product, excess oil and grime. A shampoo and conditioner duo containing nourishing oils and butters, such as Dove Argan Oil & Damage Repair Shampoo and Conditioner will also help hair to retain moisture in hair that’s on the dry side.
For hair that’s colored
Colored hair has to be carefully maintained. This is not only to avoid breakage, but to protect the color from fading too quickly and forcing more regular visits to the salon. If you have blonde hair, using a purple shampoo once a week will eliminate brassy tones. For brighter colors, such as reds and coppers, using a color-protecting shampoo and moisturizing conditioner will lock in the vibrancy of your color and boost shine. Try our Dove Color Care Shampoo and Conditioner, which maintain color vibrancy for up to eight weeks.
