“I was set to have my daughter in a birthing center but, due to unforeseen problems with the baby, I was transferred to a nearby hospital to deliver her with a few extra hands. When she finally arrived, it was the most powerful, graceful, and extraordinary moment of my life.” – Danielle on her improvised birth plan for baby A’mei.
“I was overcome by what my body is capable of, and I was overcome with the emotional realization that he was mine. I remember looking at all of his tiny features and thinking, ‘you are perfect’. I have never felt more joy, pride, and purpose.” – Tristin on her unmedicated vaginal birth, and meeting Dixon.
“We were so lucky that our surrogate let us be in the delivery room with her, her husband and the midwife the entire time. When our midwife said the baby was coming it all became a blur. He was delivered and placed right on Frank’s chest! It was probably the best day of our lives!” – BJ and Frank on their surrogacy birth and the arrival of Milo.
“To see my daughter coming out from inside me was the most amazing moment of my life! I’ll never forget lying her on my chest skin-to-skin; she was listening to my heartbeat, and seemed so calm, safe, protected.” – Vanessa on meeting her baby Helena.
We believe there is no right or wrong way to be a parent because there is no such thing as a perfect parent just real mums and dads, doing it their way.
