Hannah moved from suburban Colorado to bustling Philadelphia for a more challenging life, but she never expected catcalling to be her biggest challenge. The sly comments she heard on the street every day shocked her, so she decided to do something about it – to stand up for herself and for what all women were facing.
After being constantly catcalled, Hannah decided to turn the camera on the antagonists so they could get a glimpse of what she was feeling. Her photo series went viral and received positive comments from women around the world.
Even when men came out and tried to justify catcalling, Hannah stood her ground and continued to turn the gaze on them. Her camera became her most powerful tool, as she managed to shift the power in these moments where she once felt vulnerable.
