Raquel first discovered her love for dance at the age of six in a studio without mirrors. By the age of 13, she showed so much promise that she was accepted at an acclaimed school for the performing arts. But this school had mirrors.
In the mirror, Raquel saw someone who was much curvier than all the other girls. Her confidence was tested. But not for long, because her mom had already armed her by taking her to a Dove self-esteem workshop. Raquel’s confidence came back quickly. While she still dances today, she has shifted her focus from the stage to the science lab. After completing a Bachelor of Science degree, Raquel has just accepted her first dream job with a large pharmaceutical company. We’re pretty sure there are a few big medical breakthroughs in her future.
